I know I am opposite to everyone else, but I say no. I would rather someone die in goal than the smallest chance of killing someone who may be innocent. It is not unheard of that people have been found to be innocent after having spent time in goal for a crime they did not commit. The cost to keep another person in goal instead of killing him should not come into it.

I suffered a spinal injury leaving me an incomplete paraplegic which means I had one paralysed leg. I had to wear an orthidic which kept my foot at a right angle so could only wear sneakers or lace-up shoes. If I wore a dress the orthidic strapped to my leg would snag it so I stuck to pants. My surgeon referred me to a neurosurgeon who told me that not only would I never get feeling or use back in my leg but I would also get much worse as I aged and one day I wouldn't be able to walk at all. I was so upset as I left his office and as I watched a taxi coming close I momentarily thought about jumping in front of it, but at the last minute I felt it probably wouldn't kill me but give some other injury. I decided to go back to my GP and discuss the matter with him. He said he felt I would improve over time but my leg would never be normal again in either full feeling or use. I saw a physio who gave me exercises to do telling me nerves can grow back if stimulated and my surgeon told me the best vitamins to make nerves grow. I went to the local chemist to buy the vitamins and the young girl there told me I needed acupuncture but only from someone who was taught in China. I managed to find a real GP who learnt acupuncture in China and he agreed to see if there was anything he could do for me. I went to physio once a week and had acupuncture once a week all the while taking the vitamins recommended. It didn't happen overnight but it did improve so that I was able put the orthidic away underneath the stairs. The injury was 1997 and I now have 80% use of my leg and 70% feeling. I can wear flat shoes or sandals but not thongs or high heels, which I don't miss, and I can walk some distance if I wear sneakers. I went back to the hospital to show them my recovery, they rarely get to see how people cope once they leave hospital. There are things I can't do and I have to be careful because I can't tell if I am standing on uneven ground or flooring which can be dangerous, but, the neurosurgeon was wrong, I did get better and I can walk unaided.

Depends on the circumstances. I\u2019m a migrant from another country without friends but freedom to choose what I would do and I was contented with that. I found solitude can be a source of healing and rewarding. Friends can cause more stress for you as you have to keep up with them and time and be with them can be all consuming. Parents no longer give children rules or boundaries which accounts for some problems. I also notice babies no longer get definite sleep patterns. In my day when it was time for baby to sleep we left them to sleep but now mothers are out and about with crying babies and children annoying everyone else. I can give you a hint: CREDIT! Yes, these mostly young people who would, back in the day, have already been parents to a couple of kids and might be on their first or second marriages, are being propagandised to play it up and enjoy life WITHOUT responsibilities. Now everyone gets to choose their own path but this is by design. They are paid far more than I ever earned even though I have an undergraduate degree but instead of pesky kids to feed and educate they get to spend like the party will go on forever. Only they are deceived. Most will never be able to afford to buy a home of their own and many live with mates not family, except many still do well into their 20's or even longer. So their rate off disposable income is higher. Their nice cars though are often bought on credit which sounds brilliant to them until they get sick or lose their job that is! Then we have other available credit including the plastic cards but even more commonly nowadays are the Afterpay and Zip BNPL platforms and they can create massive problems which only this generation has seen. The whole "pay in 4" sounds great at first but if you haven't had a good fiscal education, and many have not, then the fact that you can buy a card, with Zip there's no upfront payment to do so although Afterpay requires 25% down, which you can use to dine out, travel, and buy basically whatever takes your fancy even though you don't have the money! I was amazed to find that you can buy groceries with these platforms, and if you are hungry then Im sure its invaluable, but the rest is just trouble! I've watched many financial channels where young people are interviewed and some of them are 50K in debt and they have zero assets. They've had to go bankrupt before they're 30! I understand that those who did the right thing and saved up money, scrimping for years to pay back their mortgage and only driving second hand cars until they own their home outright, like my own parents, certainly deserve to enjoy the fruits of their labour, but today is different and there WILL be a societal reckoning due to this and that won't be good for any of us! People are selfish. Everyone is an hurry to nowhere. No one wants more police on the streets. However, it may be necessary for a larger police traffic presence to alter driver behaviour. As stated elsewhere, harsher and stricter penalties might also be required. it's not just the speed. There is a general lack of awareness and understanding of the rules of the road. Better and more rigorous driver education standards combined with mandatory re-examination / relicensing for more serious offences might be helpful in altering behaviours as well.

People are just Lazy. Its not just Litter the dump when and where they want to there are other things people do which also gets up our noses. Gyms. The great Big, Muscle-bound men and Women use equipment, particulatly Heavy Weights, and then simply leave them where they have been using them so that Gym Staff have to go around putting all that gear back on the racks, we even have one of them who uses the toilet, never flushes we simply assume that Mum/Mom, Dad or some servant at home wipes their bums and flushes for them The other annoyance is in Supermarkets. People go to the Service Delicatessen get a heap of Smallgoods and then later decide they don't want any of it. So what do they do? Take it back to the Delli? Of course not! They just dump it anywhere and never in any fridge so that when hours or even days later it is found it has to be thrown out. This costs the Supermarket owners and, just like Shoplifting, means that prices are increased to cover those losses. Is it really so difficult to keep your rubbish until you get home? You are big and strong enough to carry those FULL cans, bottles, wrapped sandwiches etc. into Parks etc. so why are you suddenly so weak you cannot carry the Empty bottles and cans, wrapping papers/bags out and dispose of them at home?

This is unfortunately the problem the world will be facing with all of this so-called 'green' technology such as wind turbines, solar panels and lithium batteries when they reach the end of their usefulness. How is all of this going to be recycled? If it ends up in landfill, what sort of chemicals are going to leach into the soil and river systems?

I truly believe that women in general have less rights now than they did when I was growing up in the 1960's. My mother was able to stay home and raise my brother and I and not forced to leave her home AND her children to afford the mortgage money for the house my father and her purchased together. They had 2 solid years working together at a factory before my mother fell pregnant with me and retired from the paid workforce and she was able to rest during her pregnancy and prepare for my arrival enjoying that time. Even on one income back then we had meat every night for dinner because back then you could afford it, not now! My mother taught me SO many valuable lessons of how to cook well but cheaply, how to sew and how to run a home. I, however, did not think that these lessons were valuable until I got older and unfortunately I bought into the feminist hype of the working woman being able to "do it all"! Absolute BS BTW as all I did was get on a treadmill for 25 years without stopping trying to be everything that my changing society told me was my right but ultimately missing out on some of the most important things in my 5 children's lives. I sent them along to Daycare because I was told it was as good as me caring for them and they'd be well socialised, but they cried when I left them and I abandoned them to a place of noise and no love. They will say to me today "Mum, do you remember when" or "do you remember so and so" and I have no recollection of those events or people because my headspace and I were somewhere else. I wish that I had realised the feminist lies back then and stayed at home raising my children myself and teaching them things of value. You can NEVER reclaim those moments you lost and I regret it deeply. I believe that we are less "women" now than we were before we had the right to choose whether or not to bring to term the children we carried in our wombs and we started trying so dang hard to be as good as men when we already were but in a different way! We got robbed of a lot of simple pleasures of watching our children play or having kids come home with our kids and ask to play in the backyard because there was always someone home back then. These days women, mothers especially, have to coordinate schedules and are often absent from the home and need to organise formal play dates with the other equally busy and exhausted parents of their child's friends. I grew up an army brat in a large family and we spent a large amount of our free time outside - exploring! If we ignored rubbish outside and my parents found out, we would get extra chores (usually picking up rubbish) and would lose our allowance for a week. Those were the days!!

I come school my child. I do not believe that children need to attend a main stream school. Parents can access so many different resources and facilities. Homeschooling allows kids to learn without disruption, without all the waiting. Kids queue to enter a school classroom they wait while students organise themselves, they wait while instructions and resources are distributed. Waiting to ask questions plus all the rest. Homeschool kids have access to as much socialising as mainstream school students if not more. This depends on the parents and locations. We do group sporting, Homeschool group activities, play sessions, group library activities activities. The difference i find with my kid is that they are socialising with kids of a wide variety of ages, stages, and walks of life. I have found Homeschool kids to be more friendly, they actually think more, are kind and great well rounded kids. I've not come across bullying and harassment behaviour. We live how we attend a monthly science activity. The kids get together and start group games. No parental instruction and they support younger kids or kids that may have disabilities and adjust things to include kids. These kids do this without any adult direction. Talking to the kids they take each kid individually likes/dislikes and all abilities. There has to my knowledge no restricting or isolation of any kids. They have been happy, confident, caring and intelligent kids. The kids can adjust attitudes and behaviours if they are playing games with toddlers, thru to high school kids and even adjusting games to include kids in wheelchairs or crutches, blind or other disabilities. They don't make a fuss of adjustments. An example was 12 boys (aged between 8 and 15 ) playing with a ball kicking it from one side to another. Then allowing some toddlers to have a kick of the ball and encouraging the little ones to be part of the game.

My partner of 24 years passed suddenly on the 30th January. We had him lying in state at home and a fantail flittered outside the window behind him. Anyway, a very bad warning health sign is you stated your father recently fell - you need to schedule an appointment with a geriatrician and neurologist ASAP. After the health data comes back from both medical doctors - you and father need to have a heart-to-heart talk about his living on his OWN and any adjustments NEEDED for him to continue to live on his OWN! FYI: I turned 79 - yesterday - I see a geriatrician and neurologist - once a year - to make annual adjustments pertaining to the status of my health - so I can continue to live on my OWN!

Climate change is another lie that started as Global Warming but when it became evident that the world was not warming it was changed to climate change. The CSIRO know it isn't a fact but if they announce that the money tap will be turned off. Malcolm Turnbull pushes climate change, and why wouldn't he as he and his son are making a lot of money from green technologies. As with anything, follow the money. Just look at the money being made by people making and installing solar panels, electric cars and batteries. And all this rubbish needs replacing every 10 or 20 years. It is one huge con and many people have been sucked in either because they didn't really think about it or are too afraid to disagree. How on earth can mankind change the weather? There is the sun and moon with all their effects, undersea volcanoes spewing hot water that heats our oceans altering the currents which effects the rain we get. Climate change has been blamed for the recent floods which is totally incorrect, they were caused by El Nino which has been known by the South Americans for thousands of years. People should ask questions and not simply accept the rubbish pushed as FACT.

Was with my partner for 24 years (he passed this January) and we both never felt the need to get married. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

I am NOT a people person - I enjoy being ALONE without ever feeling LONELY! Furthermore, there is a BIG difference between ALONE and being LONELY!

We have no right to judge anyone as we do not know the complete story. There could be many reasons for a mother to leave, she may be putting her kids first, who knows? It would be such a hard decision. We have not walked in their shoes. Anybody who has made the decision deserves our support as well as the children and other parent. The last thing they need is others judging. How will that help a family?

I received my licence at 19 & am now 82, I have never had a speeding ticket, only a small dint in my car in our car park misjudging how close I was to a pole. Another scratch on the front must have been done by someone else when my car was in the shopping centre. Will have to go for my license in three years & not looking forward to it, my husband is due for the second time he passed there last one in flying colours. How many young people with have a record like this, all my children & now grandchildren have been picked up mostly for speed limit fortunately not drink driving, one G Child lost his license for three months after loosing all his points, was rather expensive , fines as well as difficulty in getting to work.

Like a lot of others, I get screened out of countless surveys - certainly there are far more outs than acceptances. There is absolutely no doubt that the main reason I get the 'cold shoulder' is my age. I am 77. Being rejected used to annoy me but I have come to accept that the so called marketing experts aren't interested in considered opinions from us older folk and believe that the world functions around the upwardly mobile with more money than sense. That's okay, they pay their money and get what they want but I wish they wouldn't waste everyone's time in this manner.

I think we have no idea what we are eating. How could we know? We aren't there where our food is grown or even worse where it's produced, handled and packaged. Unless you grow your own food and raise your own livestock, you don't know what you're eating. Even then, what part does the environment and the feed for the livestock impact the final product? Almost everything from the air we breathe to the items we interact with to the food we eat affects us. I'm more concerned with the electronics and all the things we can't see. I have proof that the electricity in our homes can kill us, even our pets and trees. Now there is so much more than just the electricity we use. All the devices we use affect us, and I feel we are forced to use them out of necessity. I hate mobile phones, but almost every company wants you to download an app which I think is for tracking purposes, but they make it appear to be for out benefit. When do companies EVER do anything just to save us money? That doesn't even make sense. I feel like we are lambs being sent to the slaughter and everyone just follows along. I try not to, but sometimes we HAVE to in order to do what we have to do. They assume everyone has a cell phone and internet. We should be able to make that choice and not be forced into using things that we don't even understand how they work! Maybe I'm just too old for this. Does anyone agree or am I paranoid? I've been around long enough to know not to trust everything. You can't even believe what you hear and see now with the AI which is another subject I'd like to avoid!

I think men these days are over it,we have women that look like rhinos with 5 kids to different dads saying men need to be a list of things that are in fantasy land.We also have men that are accused of being stalkers for even saying hello to a lady they see.In essence men are just over the whole dating scene.its very sad actually

The education system is nothing more than a left leaning brain washing scheme. The teachers have no authority over the pupils who do pretty much what they like. There is no discipline or routine and nothing worthwhile is being taught. One of my children had a subject called pastoral care. I thought it was spelt "pasture" and wondered why they were learning about animal husbandry. I never did find out exactly what he learnt but his children have been taught about the stolen generation, how we stole their land, the world will burn up via climate change and you can be gender neutral or gender fluid and that there are more than 2 sexes. When I told my 10 year old grandson he might like Mork & Mindy he was quite concerned telling me many old TV shows aren't appropriate today. Fancy loading that on the shoulders of a 10 year old. In my opinion it's nothing more than child abuse. They are children and should be able to enjoy a childhood free of concern and unnecessary worry.

Get rid of the plethora of unnecessary over-paid management types, and lower the product / service prices. Don't waste piles of money on ridiculously priced advertising company campaigns that tell customers nothing about the product / service. Don't buy / rent hideously over-priced buildings to operate from (including NOT renting shops in over-priced shopping malls). Don't get greedy #1: Stick to the business' core products / services. Don't try branching out into other weird sidelines that have nothing to do with the business. Don't get greedy #2. There is no need for any company to "take over the world". The business does not need a billion branches all over the country / world.

I honestly don't know. I am trying hard to pay off our cards, but our debt did not come from living too well, but simply having to pay bills. My husband had to have operations & could not work or get unemployment because he had his own business, so we accrued debt from medical & other bills. I worked, but it wasn't enough. I can't wait until it's all paid off!! I look forward to that freedom!

I understand your need to know but it's important to realize you are likely not the only person whose life may be upset needlessly with any disclosure. There may be many reasons you weren't told, including your mother having been the victim of rape, incest or long-denied or hidden indiscretions. How badly you may need to resolve this has to be weighed against the hurt the truth may cause, wounds re-opened and marriages undermined.

Nothing is whole some any more. Can't even watch a TV series where they promote homosexuality. Not every one is for this.If it wasn't for my husband would not have a TV !

I have all my money in jars, I don't touch them until they are full, I don't have any credit cards and there is never money in my bank, it isn't the Bank of Pop it's the Bank of Jars, I have 17 different jars all different sizes all different purposes, it is amazing how much you can save by putting your change away and I also save my 5 dollar notes for the bigger purchases
