I was just realizing today (and maybe a lot of you already realized) that when taxable items go up in price, the govt taxes are also increased. That bottle of shampoo that was 10 dollars with 1.13 added in tax is now 15 dollars and 1.95 in taxes. I only realized this because I heard a tv commentator talk about how much extra revenue the govt is collecting now due to the higher price of fuel at the pumps. I keep reading how people are begging the govt to stop grocery...

I wondered how many who read this have had a territorial english bluebird, constantly go from window to window to window and look in and smash worms on the windows. We have had one here for three years now doing this. While his female mate sits on the eggs and hatches out the babies, he stalks me in my home. I have tried window guards, had a friend here one day and he was thorping the window and she said that bird is trying to get your attention, go give...

I've never seen one but what a lovely sight to see them nesting and caring for their bubs right in front of you. I walked past some sparring magpies here on the sidewalk last summer . One was kind of supervising and egging the the most aggressive one on and the third one was being crumpled around but still holding his own . As I approached I clapped my hands and told them all to knock it off ...just kept on walking .
They all separated quite swiftly and stood around quietly after that !

A guy at confession says to the priest: "Bless me, Father, for I have sinned. I have been with a loose girl."
The priest asks, "Is that you, little Joey Pagano?"
"'Yes, Father, it is."
"And who was the girl you were with?"
"I can't tell you, Father. I don't want to ruin her reputation."
"Well, Joey, I'm sure to find out her name sooner or later so you may as well tell me now. Was it Tina Minetti?"
"I cannot say."
"Was it Teresa Mazzarelli?"
"I'll never tell."
"Was it Nina Capelli?"
"I'm sorry, but I cannot name her."
"Was it Cathy Piriano?"
"My lips are sealed."
"Was it Rosa DiAngelo, then?"
"Please, Father, I cannot tell you."
The priest sighs in frustration. "You're very tight lipped, and I admire that. But you've sinned and have to atone. You cannot be an altar boy now for 4 months. Now you go and behave yourself."
Joey walks back to his pew, and his friend Franco slides over and whispers, "What'd you get?"
"Four months vacation and five good leads!"

For this one only use the back/forward/sideways buttons on your keyboards..I have no idea how people get lots of points...but the important part of my technique is to take two short breaks each game (or you are disqualified for being too fast)...all you do is hit all the buttons at random as fast as you want and at some point it is "game over" and you get 1 point...it is random...but I score between 460 and 1450...but that doesn't matter I still get 1 point..I advise playing...

This is the most ridiculous thing I have seen so far while attempting to do a survey. After filling out all the prequalifcation (and being "slow" as I know panel station will reject your survey on prescreen even when you are slow so going SUPER SLOW while filling in a/s/e/l questions gives you a 50/50 chance of PERHAPS getting the survey), I encountered the following error when filling in the craptcha: RECaptcha error. I have just finished 3 surveys from different colours. All gone to the very last page, then I was told I was screened out. Well over an hour spent on these ridiculous last minute screen outs!
Screening should be done at the beginning rather than at the end, you want respondents to be honest, then you shouldn\u2019t waste their time or honour with 50 cents (rather than 20points).

Here we go again...
Anti-German sentiment created "Clive built vs Jerry built" but in reality, German engineering was better.
Made in Japan was a slur created by Americans because NOTHING can be better than US built or produced but, again Japanese products are better.
Made in Taiwan was also a slur for "poorly built and manufactured" and I must tell you that many high end components of everything that is manufactured actually comes from there.
Today's slur is obviously "Made in China" but if you went there, you would have your eyes opened as they are way ahead in tech etc and have been for decades.
Like every other place, all countries have good and bad products. All countries also get products and components from other countries or, indeed have other countries manufacture things on their behalf so does it really matter where the product is from?

Just loved Water Rats, a crime show based around Sydney Water Police. It finished suddenly in 2001 and just in the few years while reminiscing I found out that the reason for this was that Colin Friels had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. He is about the only person that I am aware of who has survived pancreatic cancer. God bless him.

Recently, I spent time in the hospital. I was discharged, yet received numerous notations, SMS messages, emails, plus standard mail appointments covering possible elective surgery. This barrage of information is in the usual hospital speak. Readable yet lengthy and can leave one unsure, especially when unwell. Hospital speak is a language all of its own, giving credence to what they wish to do with you and to you, often with extra testing done if their is risks involved....

How do people deal with petty people? I usually laugh at them and then brush them off but someone on one of the games on here is getting really nasty about things. How is everyone coping with the escalating cost of petrol/diesel in your country now due to the blockage of fuel tankers from the Strait of Hormuz. What happens if we look in the mirror for 30 minutes? If you look at yourself in the mirror for more than 10 minutes, your face will start to deform, twist and look terrible. The phenomenon is known as the Troxler effect. The Troxler effect shows up when you look in the mirror by creating an illusion of a strange face. Of course, many will say . . "10 seconds and that happens to me" Also, the reflection you see in the mirror is not how anyone else sees...
APB
The person in the mirror is a "mirror image" and not what you look like at all...you need two mirrors and look at the original image through ITS reflection....and if you stare at yourself for 30 minutes there is clearly something VERY wrong with you...you need therapy and medication....I hope that helps...

I find it annoying people continually posting their points as an answer to someone's carefully thought out discussion and polls questions lf you've got nothing constructive to say then don't tell us you got 2 pts we don't care! If you got points and want to add an extra little comment to that ,then fine .. l think it's an insult to some of the more sensitive topics posted that these people just don't even read the question and just want to let everyone know about themselves and the fact they got less than 0.1c to be on there .

Sly and the Family Stone, arrived at The Doors, the Mummas and the Pappas were taking the tickets, The Band was already playing covers from Metallica, there were some Animals in the corner they were in Dire Straits but it was alright The Police were watching them like detectives, The Queen arrived didn't know she was a Blondie, our friends The Beach Boys REMembered the Cream cakes they were on Platters, but the Byrd's, they might have been Eagles ate them anyway, Yes the Outcast was there as well he was a Public Enemy because he shut down the A/C/D/C at the last concert Nirvana played at, ABBA yelled out hey U2 look out for the Turtles , The Yardbirds were squawking at us as well but i think it was because our hair was Pink, Floyd who was having a Green Day sat with Gladys Knight and the Pips, our seats were so uncomfortable it was like we were sitting on Nine Inch Nails, i noticed Alice Cooper had a bag of Guns and Roses, i was ok with that ,the Pet Shop Boys who have the power of Genesis were watching him, they could behave like Monkeys sometimes, but anyway the Led Zeppelin concert was over there are plenty of Talking Heads in the crowd

When I had my hobby farm...(not far from where I live now...it was rented and the farmer's sheds were out the back...)
I noticed my knickers were disappearing from my clothes line...
One day he was helping me do something in my yard and sent me to the shed to get a tool.
I saw his boat, got in it and found my knickers, a very sticky Playboy magazine and an ounce of grass....
So I left him a note..." You can keep my knickers, the Playboy magazine but I'm taking the gunja"..
Got the tool, finished the job and said nothing...
That farmer was a pillar of the community...a Salvation Army man..and his wife a toe tapping tambourine player...Go figure !!
I have too many stories to tell on this subject....so best I leave it there..

A lot of us like to play Scramble Words and naturally like to score as many points as we can. How many points you can score in a game is limited by the number of empty boxes for a particular puzzle. If there are a lot of empty boxes you can chalk up a reasonable score. Conversely, if there are few empty boxes the opposite applies. If you are careful you can achieve the maximum score by not nominating a missing word until all its boxes are full except the last one but at the end...
APB
I was once on the score ladder...somebody else told me...I wasn't getting high scores per game....I think it is the total score for ALL your games in any given period of time,,,

Beef hamburg fried as patties into hamburgers. I wonder if Gardner deliberately created the name Hamilton Burger for the DA in Perry Mason? Now the ads on ME-TV have Perry being offered a hamburger in a diner and saying he was on diet. They also say that the DA is a hamburger. I did not use the DA played by Wm Talman on TV Perry Mason series in any of my fanfictions I write and share online. I did marry off Paul Drake the private detective o a descendant of Nancy Drew! OK it is the 22nd Century and these characters are on other worlds in my stories. I really got reamed when I wed Hogan's Heroes Wolfgang Hochstetter to Helga Schmidt. He was a Gestapo major and she was Klink's secretary who really helped out Hogan and his small group of saboteurs and travel agents!

" why don't you do what Superman does....put on your cape, jump off the shed roof and fly away"
The next day...I got home to find my brother crying with a broken collarbone....My mother said your brother said you told him to jump off the roof.

I had this a fair few years back at the supermarket while I was checking out @ 40 yrs old ,,busy unloading stuff onto the conveyor,,I had been to the beach and my hair was down ,no makeup ,,the woman in front was chatting to the checkout girl about someone in a movie and they couldn't remember her name ,,ohh what's her name ? They said..but doesn't she look just like her ? It was then I looked up thinking one was showing another a photo ,,but no they were both looking straight at me ! In fact when I mentioned who I thought it was (as I had been stopped in the street another time by a spruiker for the same thing and also been told by a work colleague as well )and they said YES! ,,l was totally happy for the day !

Hi all. I'm finding more and more surveys screen out and/or are completely irrelevant (the 'big corporate tech' ones for instance). And few pay well for the time spent. There are a lot of surveys that take much longer to complete than the stated time. If I have around 10 minutes to spare, I will look for a survey that is 10 minutes long. Pack your bags, sell the house without telling her and leave the country with the proceeds. Far too often are the men cast as the evil doers, they are always in the wrong, they can never, ever do anything right or decent. I have felt 100+ for the last six weeks. Lied on the couch day and night for two weeks straight with gout in 10 toes. Side effect from anaesthetia I was told by ED doctors. Just starting to feel like my spritely 72 years again. I was thrilled when a shop assistant at Chemist Warehouse quizzed about the tart cherry juice i had just purchased. She stated, it is really good isn't it, to which i replied, it sure is for gout prevention but I couldn't get my hands on it quick enough this time. She then replied, I thought you took it for your complexion. I then asked her to guess my age. Lo' and behold she said 44. I instantly felt like my spritely 72 years again after moping around for six weeks.

Can anyone explain to me how the forum topics are picked from the various submissions received? I know of a few people, myself included, who have submitted topics, yet have never had any of them posted for discussion here. Yet some people have had had many of their submissions picked for discussion. Doesn t seem fair.
Thomas (Rewardia Support)
Thank you for bringing this up! It's a great question, and it's important for us to clarify the difference between the Forum and our Activity sections (like Daily Polls, Trivia, and Recipes).
Forum Topics: When you post a topic here in the Forum, it is published immediately and available for discussion right away.
Activity Submissions (Polls, Recipes, etc.): Submitting a Daily Poll or a Recipe through the specialised form sends it to our content management team for review. It is not published immediately.
Our moderators decide whether to publish a submission based on several key factors:
1. Originality and Repetition
We have already published over 3,000 Daily Polls, and we try hard not to repeat them. You would be surprised how often we receive the same questions like, "What's your favourite colour?" or "Which actor played James Bond best?"
To keep the Activity section fresh and engaging for all users, including new members, we prioritise submissions that offer original and unique ideas.
2. Topic Appropriateness and Engagement
The content team also considers the following:
- Audience Fit: Is the topic relevant and interesting to our core audience? (For example, questions about studying at home might not be suitable for an older demographic.)
- Depth and Engagement: For submissions like a "Discussion" topic, a single, short sentence like "What do you think about electric cars?" is less likely to be published. We prefer submissions where the user has provided context, a personal story, or detailed thoughts to spark a real conversation.
3. Submission Quality (Especially Recipes)
For Recipes, we have a strict requirement: we only publish submissions that include illustrations, such as photos of the finished dish. It's even better if the photo was taken by the recipe author! Unfortunately, most of the recipe submissions we receive have no photos at all.
In conclusion, we genuinely look forward to your new Daily Polls, Discussions, and Recipes! Beyond the excitement of having your contribution read by hundreds or thousands of people, we also award 1,000 points for every submission we publish.
If you have sent something in the past that was not published, I sincerely apologise. It may have been a fantastic idea but was either too similar to something we'd already run or, sadly, it may have been lost in our archives.
Please keep the great submissions coming!

Just out of curiosity: What do all the different survey colours mean? It may be on here somewhere, but the forum doesn't seem to have a search function (if there is one, please direct me), and I can't find anything elsewhere to tell me what all the different colours represent. Thanks in advance!
Thomas (Rewardia Support)
The different colours indicate different survey providers (also known as survey channels). For example, if you click on a green-coloured survey, it will usually open a Samplicio.us survey in a new browser tab.
However, sometimes the same survey might appear under two different colours. This happens because companies that commission market research often work with multiple survey providers at the same time.

Unfortunately, you did not qualify for this survey. Would you like to try to qualify for another survey? Continue No Thanks Why does it continue when you say "No Thanks"?

Elizabeth J 447888
When I purchase a bunch of anything that has roots, mainly shallots, they go straight into the ground. They just keep on giving. I only have to purchase about two bunches a year. My mum has always done that so I guess I learned from her. A few years back it was a big thing. I remember people regrowing celery. I managed that one, but an idiot who lives in my house thought it was a weed and that was the end of that.

It drives me nuts when you see a survey on Rewardia's survey page and it says 10 minutes. You click on it and now the survey says it will take 20 minutes. Happens all the time that the surveys are usually longer than advertised. When that happens I just close the survey, if they can't be honest about the time then they don't get my answers.
keimanzero
Most surveys say that in 'timed tests, it has been found that this survey takes 8 to 10 minutes to complete'. This does not take into account the fact that many surveys have essay questions, pay attention questions, I am not a robot questions and that they usually ask the same BS questions over and over again thus making that 8 to 10 minutes more like an hour or two. Beware! Most 25 point surveys usually take an hour or two or three even! Rule of thumb- always assume that surveys can be very short or very long regardless of what they tell you! If you don't have the time needed and you are not sure if you can save the survey for later, do not start surveys you are not sure of their length. What I hate is when they tell you that you must accumulate X number of points before you can cashout! BTW Rewardia requires 50K points for $50 cash or gift cards/codes.

If you find some people's attempt at humour politically incorrect or offensive, this probably isn't the site for you. We is a wacky bunch.

I have now received approximately 6 invites to do azure surveys and gain bonus points. Problem is that when i go to get these azure surveys, it comes up, "there are no azure surveys available for you". does anybody else have this happening, or is it just me. graeme m.

When i try to do azure i normally get screened out, so, hence i do less of them.
Prefer tango ones as i have more luck with those ones.
Even if i miss out on the azure bonus points.

I just saw a news story that a woman in the US was in a cafe, the service wasn't good, so she ate what she ordered and then paid for it, and then left, but she never left or gave a Tip. The worker then called the Police because the No Tip was given. Not sure if any action was taken by the Police. When we were in Miami (about 6 weeks back) on the waterfront we got crappie food and just paid the bill, but never left a tip, the dude wasn't happy. Here...

I never tip (USA) - it is not my responsibility (as a customer) to supplement the employer's pay rate (what the employer is paying his/her employees). If the employer cannot pay his/her employees a livable wage - then the employer should not be operating a business!
