I read in a chair when I am home with my pet kitty cat lying on the arm of the chair and snuggling into my lap while I read to her. My really fave place out of the house to read is the local park located at the local police station where they have a covered porch wih a nice bench and when they are open and it gets too hot or too cold, I go inside and sit on a bench to read. I neevr stay out more than an hour as my Plummy gets so lonely and I feel for her as I too am a lonely shut-in ignored by friends and family alike.

I used to have a completely black cat years ago. I named her midnught.

It would very much depend on which friend. I have friends who are goths through to nice old ladies and everything in between. I would choose something according to their tastes.
