Date & Walnut Loaf | ||
10 Minutes Prep time, 40 Minutes Cook time, serves 12 Adults 2 cups of self-raising flour Β½ cup of castor sugar Pinch of salt 40gms butter room temperature 1 cup of chopped dates Β½ cup of chopped walnuts 1 egg, beaten 1 cup of milk Set oven to 180C/160C fan-forced Grease and line loaf pan with baking paper Cream butter and sugar with hand beater Add egg, then mix in dates and walnuts Stir in flour and salt Combine well Place in loaf pan Bake for 40 minutes Remove from oven once lightly browned and allow to cool in pan for 10 minutes. Remove from pan to further cool on rack. Best served warm with butter or your spread of choice! | ||
