My mother loved cooking, but I wasn't always wrapt with the meals she cooked. I wasn't keen on camp pie fritters, and she would cook rice until it was like glue, but she made wonderful apple dumplings and stews, but she also cooked things I have never been able to master. I can't cook Yorkshire pudding because the thought of such hot fat scares me. Her fried bread was great, but something else I haven't been able to get to taste like mums. Is there something your mum cooked that you loved but aren't able to cook?
