With more people electing to leave jobs when they have been with the employer for less than 2 years, even when they are permanent staff, has this made work farewell parties meaningless or is society just changing and having more of a "care factor zero" approach?
Do you think that everyone should get a farewell party, or just if they have worked for your company or your workgroup for a certain amount of time?
One employer I worked for decades ago had a culture of "everyone gets a party" and this included people that resigned within 2 weeks of becoming employed because they got a better offer. I have seen recently, people who have worked for the company for a long time (over a decade) get no party because they were leaving (both to jobs within the company and permanent resignations).
What are your thoughts?
