Discussion of the Day ยท 12-Sep-26
Are we too materialistic?
These days, many people will not settle for 'second best'. They want the newest model car. They want the most fashionable clothing. They want the latest technology and they want brand new or fully renovated and refurbished homes with all the mod cons. I know many people work hard and they deserve some extras in life, but when is enough enough? There are some families in western society who struggle to put a meal on the table. There are people living out of their cars and there are others who are in even worse states of homelessness. Then there are the third-world countries, where many people are starving or suffering from illnesses and disease without access to modern medical care. Is life really about the 'haves' and the 'have-nots'?
