Will the general rise of everything at the moment, mortgage repayments, rent, electricity and food. What are some extra ways everyone is doing to earn a little bit of extra money? I do surveys, which I love. Cut back on my electricity usage as much as I can. Groceries I try to cook from scratch as much as I can. Not just to save money, but the joys of not having a gallbladder anymore I need to eat low fat to no fat and healthier. Groceries I try to stick to buying the...

I do surveys for extra cash, but fortunate that I had great work, travelled the world before the cv rubbish, own my own home and dont use town power etc, have own power and water,. Things are still not easy but I am not in debt, have food and a roof over head, LOTS of family and friends, NEVER put anything in bank.

There is so much media hype about the jail system in Oz, the so-called do-gooders make jail time like a holiday. Prisoners rioting because they've lost their freedom. What do they think they're there for? Do the crime, do the time and maybe, just maybe they won't want to go back there and will become good citizens.

I guess we are not talking about White-Collar-Crime (WCC). In the Banking scandal of 2008 where trillions of dollars were stolen and not one WCC went to prison (Who says crime doesn't pay?). So exactly what prisoners are we talking about?

I told my friend that we will immediately go to police station and drop it off. One minute later this young...

My email app has just informed me I don't even need to write my own emails now as I have A.I. to do it for me. Nope. I'm more than capable and I want to write as me, not send emails from some robot pretending to be me! But that's my opinion. What's everyone else's thoughts on Chat GPT and other A.I. starting to infiltrate our lives?

In December 2022 the television media and Jim Chalmers announced that on the 1st of January 2023, all Australian pensioners will receive a pension payment "Cost of Living" increase of $27-90 per fortnight for singles and over $40 for couples. It has been a very tough 2 years for all of us and as a result; many people worldwide have become more depressed than usual, sadly there has been an increase in suicides and many others contemplating suicide as a result of this problem. We are all unique, which makes us who we are and who we will become. We are all worthy beings and have a purpose in this world. Attempted one of them, it was LOOONG and boring, as I was completing it I kept thinking to myself it has to be worth more than 20 cents. The thing I hate most on TV shows , especially soaps like Coro, Shortland St, Neighbours, Home and away, is how it sees like it is the norm for people to think they have the right to interfere in other people's lives. They demand that secrets be revealed and have no respect for other people's privacy. I know it is only TV, but I think it gives the message that it is ok to get involved in other people's business without being asked. I think it is disrepectful to try and...

Life is very expensive due to high house prices, living costs here in NZ and still paying a mortgage when I have 11 years to go before I retire at 65. I do have Kiwisaver but feel that I won't have enough saved in time to retire and live well. Thankfully our mortgage will be paid off in 6 years time so I have 5 years to bump up my retirement savings. Food for thought!

Kitty, I would just like to suggest to you trading on the ASX, if you are aren't already. I guess Kiwis are able to trade on the Australian Stock Exchange easily. I would just like to share my experience. About 10 years ago I came across a book in the library called Top Stocks by Martin Roth. He brings out a new upgraded version each year at around this time. It is basically the thoroughly researched lowdown on the top 100 companies in Australia. They all must pay twice yearly dividends to get into the book. It sets out the criteria for making it to the 100. It is just fantastic for learning the ropes about investing in shares. I get so much pleasure of watching the ups and downs on the stock market. We are all investing in shares through our superannuation but you cannot get your hands on it until retirement age. Having a bit invested in the stock market on your own gives you the option of taking a bit of cash easily if you ever need some quick money. One just cannot go wrong with the 100 ASX sha

Beef hamburg fried as patties into hamburgers. I wonder if Gardner deliberately created the name Hamilton Burger for the DA in Perry Mason? Now the ads on ME-TV have Perry being offered a hamburger in a diner and saying he was on diet. They also say that the DA is a hamburger. I did not use the DA played by Wm Talman on TV Perry Mason series in any of my fanfictions I write and share online. I did marry off Paul Drake the private detective o a descendant of Nancy Drew! OK it is the 22nd Century and these characters are on other worlds in my stories. I really got reamed when I wed Hogan's Heroes Wolfgang Hochstetter to Helga Schmidt. He was a Gestapo major and she was Klink's secretary who really helped out Hogan and his small group of saboteurs and travel agents!

The only mobile phone I've ever owned is when a friend bought me one about 15 years ago as a present. I didn't even bothered to get it activated. People look at me like I'm some kind of freak when they ask me for my mobile number and I say I don't have one. I personally have been fighting the Australian Federal government on behalf of ALL pensioners for over 12 months..First the Liberals and now Labor. Liane H
If it's a sunny day and you don't feel like going out that's OK, make sure to open some windows a little for some fresh air and let the sunshine filter in. Play some music, I find it takes my mind off the immediate problem , just aim for upbeat styles.
I mix up my favourite drink usually an iced coffee around lunchtime... or a cup of tea always good and calming. If you like to cook make something to treat yourself or you could share with a friend or neighbour? You could concentrate on a quiz show and pat yourself on the back whenever you get one right ! Drink water.. may sound odd but being dehydrated could make you feel worse and be giving you a headache .l just try and do the small things that I can do or feel like doing in such times . Any little bit helps oh and call a friend for a laugh is always the best medicine of course ! Best wishes Tania \ud83d\ude42

I've often wondered why our country's policies are not more focussed on the total healthcare of its citizens/residents. Having fair/good teeth and dental hygiene could help with obtaining proper diets, boosting confidence and saving the cost of so many other health issues. What's your experience?
Liane H
Not sure where you are Glenice but I wholeheartedly agree.
Wake up Australia your teeth are rotting! Peak Health authority bodies want govt to start paying $ 500 million per yr targeted at those most in need to begin combating the ongoing problems of the average Aussie not being able to afford basic dentistry above a standard oral exam, xray and scale and clean ( costing between $230-350 avg).
Fewer than half the Aus population now see a dentist once per yr. Canadanians 75% and U.S.A 63%
Which puts us in dire straits as far as more hospitalisations in the future.... heart conditions ,dental issues too far gone , many issues including comfort eating your food ,jaw pain ,migraines ,mental health/ confidence issues etc ,etc would all be helped or avoided with regular dental care.
Now if they can just find a means to train them all to be nice and gentle and get some new methods of numbing other than the goddamn needles ,, and a new style of silent laser drill ? l would be happy!

With the shortages of staff in hospitals, wouldn't it be a good idea to bring back some of the matrons that did hands on training in hospitals. Lockdown will not work if shops other than supermarkets can be physically accessed. Everything else should be non contact. It's not rocket science. hey guys, have you ever been told by a parent that they have never wanted you, then tells you that they love you and wants to know why you can never get along always questioning you? would you make an effort to visit with them when they have a short amount of time left ? Do you think I should just bite the bullet ? whats your thoughts on this ? and how did you handle the situation? has it affected you in any way?
Grommie
quite the opposite, I discovered my siblings were all "accidents" but I was actually planned. However, I do wonder, as both my parents had wry senses of humour, so they may have given that story to the others.. and sworn them to secrecy as I was.

Anyone else here struggling to learn to live in their own after a divorce of a long term marriage with absolutely no support system to look to for help, or am I the only one?
Dada WA
Its not only women. Men also have problems as I found out many years ago. There is no support for either. It was a struggle but the only one who can do anything is yourself. Self pity does not help. You have to just get on with life, its your life and you are the only one who can change things.

I have noticed over the last week on the many surveys on how I am voting at this Federal Election a pattern that I believe could be ensuring polls are being fixed. I will show you how this is being done - you are asked who you will vote for, then it goes to how did you vote in the 2022 election. I have always been consistent and in all polls I have stated I voted for the LNP as first preference.- however when I state I voted for the LNP in the 2022...

Everyone watching what's happening in the Ukraine the South China Sea the Korean Peninsula and the Middle East with Iran.? Seems that globalisation hasn't quite worked out as one would have hoped. The world order is no more and it's become ever so more dangerous to live in. Russia, China , North Korea, Iran. Do you see any parallels with any nations and their political ideology of the 1940s The oppression, the mass murder prosecutions torture...

There will be a third world war. It has to happen before the US falls and the new world order starts again. It's all written in the script and unfolding just as the elites want it to. Unless we all stand and say no. But since their rehearsal to this was COVID and pretty much everyone fell for it, they know they can roll it out with no resistance.

It's all very well living close to one another but what do you do when next door's kids run riot. I have a small garden and have planted a tree at the end of the garden. It's only 4 years old and has doubled in height and this years has masses of oranges. A few branches over-hang next doors garden...its in a corner away from the house and sitting areas. The oranges are hard as they are not ripe. The teenagers picked them on their side and then hurled them onto my and my neighbours...

Criminal damage is when someone intentionally or recklessly destroys or damages property belonging to another person. Trees growing over a fence is not criminal damage. Damaging roof tiles or solar panels is. Maybe remind your neighbour of this.

What do you think about Labor trying to change theuse of our Super at the moment? We were promised something and now they are proposing changing what the use is for, changing the rules that we all were promised and have abided by. Is this fair?
Pato Lo Duck
I didn't see you complaining when the Liberals capped the tax-free threshold super balance a few years ago.. The cap at the moment is 1.7 mil. With an average return from super funds over time at around 9%, that means you would be earning around a 150k a year for doing nothing, without paying any tax at all.

From time to time I like to get a pedicure and a manicure at one of the various nail salons, I am happy with how my nails and toes look but I don't like how the beauty therapist cannot speak English or at least say hello. Does anyone else find that annoying when the staff talk in there language or just plainly ignore you?
Glenice L 1244113
You say "annoying", but I say "suspicious": I've had to accept my inner-instincts when I go near one of those salons/spas....my gut knows their smiles are fake, most can't /won't communicate properly- which screams that they're merely fronting for something else (just money or ?whatever else?). So for about 15 yrs, I've shied away from every invitation (by my kids trying to gift me with such a visit) to have them touch me or my hair. I bought about a full set of stuff and do my own at home....in my own time too!!
Sometimes, I think it's even better to have about 2-8 girlfriends and get each other's nails and hair done(house-party) - at least we would communicate, smile and get along just fine, while saving a ton o' $$$$!

Points on this site for surveys can be exceedingly generous - I have seen surveys worth 1000 points which is great, however what is annoying there are some surveys that will give you a small portion like 5 points for trying the maximum for red surveys is 50 points if you don't meet the requirements. If people don't meet the requirements for that survey they should be at least compensated for a minimum of 10 points or 20 for taking the time. Members of the community...

I think it generous of Rewardia allocating points even if you do not qualify. No other survey sites do this that I am aware of.

I would say that if I was in that situation I would just be there for my daughter or son and support them in anyway I could.
Sylvia 1658380
Dear Kimberly, yes I agree in supporting your young daughter in this difficult time. But, I also believe that parenting played a very important role in how the children grow up. Again, I grew up in a poor family with 9 sibling and yes all girls, no boys. I have seen my parents struggle bringing us all up in a third world country where government assistant is not available. Yes, I am thankful for being once a 'World Vision's sponsor child. My parents always taught us a girl living in a corrupted society that we need to mix around with good friend. If we see friend that are doing bad thing, stay away from them. And don't stay out late at night. We were very discipline as we see our parents' struggle to bring us up. Well, here we are in Canada, all educated, have a house so is me and am pursuing my master degree in law here in Canada.
Although I do not have a boyfriend, I am not worry because everything come when the time is right. If God does not want me to get married, sure, I will stay single. I have been very independent and does travel around the world doing mission work for Christ and donating to organization where needed.

Regardless of a minor socioeconomic status, unfortunately a minor becomes a JUNKIE. Is it the minor's fault, the parent(s) fault, or both (minor and parent(s)? THEORIES?
Christina C 466456
Both. Parents need to guide kids but kids should also be responsible. Sometimes it's neither. Here's a couple of points to consider:
*Age is a factor as well though because children under a certain age lack a lot of insight. They could easily (depending on personality type) be influenced by some naughty kids or sinister people depending on who they're exposed to.
*Sometimes parents do everything in their power to shield kids from the harmful things in the world but their kids still end up in difficult situations for whatever reason.
*Genetics also plays a part. Do we blame the parents or the parents parents? I don't think it's fair to blame people for genetics because they can't help the way they're born.
At the end of the day it boils down to education and making smart decisions, good values, self esteem and inner strength: sometimes smart people make dumb decisions for whatever reason, maybe insecurity? Maybe carelessness or complacency? Sometimes people who mostly do right end up in bad situations. Sometimes disciplined people with high self esteem end up on drugs as well. If people make smart decisions, fully understand the impact of substances on their bodies, are secure in themselves, have good values and have inner strength then all these factors will help people make good decisions. Furthermore teaching all of that to a child is easier said than done, every kid is different and there is no manual for raising kids so to a degree it's up to us to teach ourselves (parents or guardians) so we can teach better because we (kids and parents) can't always rely on people to give us the best advice (boils down to smart decisions and sometimes luck).

Come on! Rewardia! Reinstate some decent points for Games! or have you given so many to US members that you have none left for the rest of the world. My imagination, or noted facts ?

And you never know when you're going to be cheated and robbed of points on a red survey. Serve me right for thinking I'd get get full points upon 100% completing a survey. How is it that I don't qualify when I've fully completed a survey, given my political views, and spent all that time working on the survey. Why do these people waste our time? Tom S Qld
Climate change = votes. Win or lose, politicians will play the emissions game.
In Europe some countries shut down their coal plants and nuclear energy plants in favor of renewables and imported energy from Russia (all in the name of reducing emissions). Now, after Russia invaded Ukraine, Europe has stopped importing energy from Russia.
Guess what, they don't have enough energy to provide power from their renewables, so they are starting up the coal plants and nuclear energy plants again.
As soon as people get hungry or cold, they lose their concerns about climate change.

What do you reckon about the latest news from the Government? As of the 1st of December 2023, Australian pensioners and the unemployed will NO LONGER get 17 and a half percent off our electricity and gas bills ( no more discounts at all) First, the government stuffs up the Medicare system to the point where medical specialists no longer bulk bill and most GPs no longer bulk bill.....This means the government took away the FREE medical care...

Prince Harrys memoir is being launched early next year. The title is Spare. Will you be buying or reading a copy? I'll be reading it, as I want to know what hes got to winge about. Its a royal reality show that keeps on giving.
Edward S 497347
Meagan Markle married into the British Royal family just to increase her popularity to promote her Hollywood acting career, with no intention of performing Royal duties as she always intended to return to acting.
She then set about brainwashing Prince Harry, to support her and to turn him against the Royal family in order to cause as much controversy as possible to keep the media's attention on her and Prince Harry.
To add to the controversy she brainwashed Prince Harry into leaving the Royal family after she deliberately caused problems within the Royal family.
Once she succeeded in that, in order to promote her career even further she and Prince Harry ( who was brainwashed by her ) began spreading lies about the Royal family to enable them to make many millions of dollars through interviews, book deals, and their own television shows and podcasts.
She, Meaghan Markle set out to gain more fame, riches, and a famous husband, then after brainwashing him she set about destroying the British Royal family to prevent them from taking Prince Harry away from her because if he divorced her, after a while, she would get much LESS media attention which would affect her career, fame, income, and lavish lifestyle.
Now no one needs to buy and read his book and the whole story is above
