Where is it written that we have the "right" to expect a home, or shelter? From our earliest ancestors, they had to hunt and gather what they needed to survive. They hunted animals for food, and they used the skin and bones to build shelters and make clothing, using crude tools made from other parts from the animals they hunted. Eventually, they made better tools, allowing to build better homes using more natural elements, rocks, wood, mud, eventually metal. They had to work for everything that needed. There were no free handouts. Why should any able humans expect anyone to give them anything that they didn't work for?

Schools are very unwilling to acknowledge this unless it happens right in front of a teacher. Perpetrators are smart, they pick their moments. That being said if the school won't help you there are a few things I found with my youngest son helped. Listen, so they feel heard and validated, talk about your child's feelings.
Try and work out who is who in the zoo, your child's friends, the bully's as well as those that stand by do nothing . Encourage your child to avoid, those that harass them ,so not to be in an area of the school yard, walk away when being verbally harassed, ignoring them as bully's get bored pretty quick and move on if they can't get the reaction they want. If it gets physical they must report it to the teacher. Specifically in my son's case it got to the point where I told him to retaliate and stand up for himself as the teacher had no interest in his problems and would move him on. I told rhe school this, they weren't happy, but it made the bully think twice about tripping him over and pushing him down rhe stairs again. Finally I got a private councillor. After consulting my sons g.p he was put on a mental health plan* to support him and to get 5 sessions free of private councilling with a child specialist of my choice. Best thing I ever did. He had someone else to talk to,was given great advice, talked about coping with stress and bullying. * the session involved together councilling as a family and part individual which was confidential. Things rhe councillor thought I should know was discussed with my son and then we talked about it together. He continued going for 3 years. Now,he is 18,and happy, doesn't care who likes him or not and actually has had many of his ex bully's apologise to him. By the way ,when school found out about the councillor, they contacted them, but was told they couldn't discuss anything with them. The school offered a councillor for him, after 4 years of ignoring my son,we refused.

I truly "LOVE" how people see jobs in trades (plumber, chippie, sparkie, gardener, etc) or retail as a lower rated job, like the people who work those jobs are a lesser person to someone who has completed many years of uni or has a high degree.
If it wasn't for cleaners, retail staff, check out operators, tradies and the like, how would you be able to do your shopping or even live? You would not have a house to live in- lots of tradies helped to build the vast majority of homes we all live in, without retail staff there'd be no shops operating, without cleaning staff many businesses would be piled high in filth.
I know of people who have doctorates, people who are A/Prof's who are cleaners or are doing labouring jobs or retail work as they simply cannot get work in their field, or maybe their job got too stressful, so they chose to do something completely different. These people also do a lot of volunteer work in roles some other "well educated" would not dream of doing.
I think it comes down to how you are raised. If you grew up with a silver spoon in your mouth and your parents taught you to look down on those with "lesser jobs", then sadly i think it will be very hard to change how one sees and treats other people and you may struggle with life if you're thrown a curve ball.
If you're raised to treat the cleaners, retail workers and garbage truck driver with respect and talk to them as a fellow equal human being, than i think you're a well rounded person who will do fine in life and be able to handle whatever the world throws their way.
And just as a FYI- Plumbers and tradies do up to 4years study/on the job training.
Bartenders and coffee shop workers also do a lot of training courses and need to get accreditation for some of their roles.
Same with grocery store workers. Yes, it's a job where you can start with no experience, but after doing the job for a while, you will realise you deal with many different things- abusive and/or rude customers, customers who they tell their deepest secrets to, you will sometimes be the ONLY person an individual (customer) interacts with, you will form friendships with customers, you will learn a lot about how a business is run.
If you study for a decade and are still miserable, was it all worth it?
If you start an entry level job and thoroughly enjoy it, do you consider this to be a waste of your education or the fact you have had an amazing opportunity open up for you?

Why do so many people expect "The Government" - But READ "Other Taxpayers" to pay for everything now? People have children and they expext other Taxpayers to foot the cost of Childcare. Why? People are earning combined salaries of well over $AU200,000.00. Let them cut their wallets so that they can pay All their own Childcare Costs. Our Parents and Grandparents managed to have children and bring them up themselves and none of them had anything like the Incomes that people have today. Think on this, if you will. Today the Unions are asking for a Pay Rise of 7% for the Lowest Paid Workers, a rise which will make their Minimum Weekly Pay $AU812. Compare that to Old Age Pensioners who worked hard for 50 and more years, paid all their Taxes, raised their children and got No Financial Assistance from any Government were recently given an increase of 3.7% which brought the single OAP up to about $AU560 per week.
Yes, by all means extend what was, dishonestly, touted at the time as "Universal Health Care" aka Medicare to cover all Dental and Optical Expenses, but including Pet Care is a step too far. What will they be asking for next? That other Taxpayers pay for all their Food, Alcohol and Illegal Drugs? Their Motor Vehicle expenses?
Fortunately we still do not live in some sort of-Socialist-cum-Communist State such as China. Did you realise that under the Chinese Communist Party Dictatorship you have to get permission from it to move from your village/town/city of Birth to another? That is what those calling for "The Government", read TAXPAYERS to cover Pet Care under Medicare will end up getting.

I was devastated after my children's father, my first and only true love from the age of 15, told me after I finished a night shift as an RN that he had spent the night while I was at work and slept with a woman that he had met ( I hadn't a clue) when he played cricket on Saturday's and planned to move in with her immediately. I was also informed by him that "the sex was so good that they'd broke the bed". Yes there'd been problems in the marriage and the past year had been especially tough after moving and renovating an old house I'd inherited and the death of my beloved mum to cancer and trying to help my Dad through the loss of his lifetime partner. I don't know if I can say that I had a mental breakdown but I did try and kill myself which ended up costing me a 3 day stay in a ward in the hospital that I worked in but with a "special" nurse so that I wasn't left alone although thankfully NOT in the psychiatric ward as my boss wouldn't allow it, but I changed after that whole experience. I was 39, had 5 kids and I thought "well if HE doesn't want me I'll have to find somebody else who will appreciate me". This led to a short relationship with one of my soon to be ex husband's friend from Church who had recently got divorced from HIS wife. I look back on that experience, which I try hard NOT to do, which led me to remarry just 2 days after my divorce came through and that lasted under 6 months. I was still shell-shocked after my 1st husband's betrayed and CLEARLY not thinking straight and I NEVER dated or looked at another man again. That was almost 19 years ago and when my aged father tries to suggest, which he has many times over the years, for me to find someone, I just tell him that I'm happier with just my 5 cats! I did look after my 1st husband's dad until he died coming up to 5 years this July, and the shame that I felt over the fallout of both those marriages and the eventual loss of my home and bankruptcy, allowed me to be so busy to look for another someone even if I HAD wanted to, but I felt that I had nothing to offer someone anyway, as "why would they want ME?" I am TRULY happy, although "happy" is an emotion that I haven't felt for years, but perhaps content is a more appropriate definition of how I feel, with my animals for companionship, but I know that I would judge any relationship and make too many comparisons to my previous relationships to be able to be open to letting myself fall in love again. I know that this story sounds morose and moribund as do I, but you CAN be wounded so much that you shut down ALL future opportunities for happiness. However I wish the other commentors here all the best with their own romantic endeavours!

One: Getting rid of the Scandal-plagued Morrison Federal Government - The Sports rorts, The Car Park rorts, The Extra-marital affairs (Adultery) by both Women and Men, the endless Lies, the subservience to the USA and US-inspired Confrontation towards China. To rid ourselves of the most Divisive, most Dishonest, Racist Government we will need to elect large numbers of Independents to control both Houses. That way they can force whichever minority government - be it Coalition or ALP is irrelevant for they are both as bad as each other.
Two: To rid ourselves of the current Inept, Dishonest State Liberal Government of South Australia and, as with Canberra, elect large numbers of Independents to control both Houses of the SA Parliament and force the minority government - be it ALP or Liberal is irrelevant because one is as bad as the other - to act in the Interests of All SA citizens and not just their mates.
Three: To declare Australia Neutral - we can, and should, be friends with all, as we used to be until the Morrison Federal Government handed Australia over to the USA and then exacerbated the solvable problems with China by joining in with the USA's Policy of Confrontation.

Old School? It is where your Teachers were only required to actually Teach you to Read, Write and do Arithmetic! They were NOT, as they are today by Lazy Parents, expected to actually bring up the children as well. Old School was when Parents taught their children Manners, how to behave but at the same time to ask endless questions which the parents should answer truthfully - no matter how awkward! To show respect towards others until that person shows they deserve none.
Old School was when Parents made sure their children were fed before going to school and at least one of them was at home when their child/children got home from school. Where Parents - no matter their Race, Ethnicity, Religion - ensured their children actually went to school.
Old School is a combination of what Parents, Children and Teachers should do. Today far too many Parents think the Teachers should do it all.

When it is your birthday party, it is your choice as to who attends. This party was obviously held at a play centre or something, where you pay by head for catering and the activities are selected by the child and appropriate to their particular peer group.
If a parent chooses to attend the venue ( for whatever reason) and bring siblings, that is fine, however this does not make them part of the party, and that should be made very clear to the siblings.
Siblings etc do not get to eat the party good (order your own food for your group), they do not play the party games ( create your own fun), nor are they entitled to a lolly bag at the end ( if there are spares, they may be offered).
This is how it has run in my social circles when the children were young.
